Unfortunately I haven't had any time in the past weeks to get any meshes ready for upload, and I won't have that time untill after about 10 october. I need to study (mock exams proved that I'm improving but not yet up to standards, with real exams only 1.5 weeks away), and computer work suffers as a result. I hope you can all understand this. I promise that I will do my best to make up for it as soon as my exams are over! And if I would find a lost moment before then, I will at least upload some new meshes, but don't count on it.

Added 13-09-1999: I fixed a small error on the links page. Also to people who find that downloads are very slow, I suggest downloading not in the weekends but tuesday, wednesday and thursday, since during those days less users visit the site so more bandwidth is available, resulting in much faster download times. Also statistics show that between 0500am and 1400pm GMT, with the dip around 10.00am GMT, there is a dip in users every day, again resulting in better download rates at that time. Sunday is definitely the busiest (slowest) day, closely followed by Saturday and Monday.

Now for new the meshes added: I actually don't have time for this but I couldn't let these files on my harddisk any longer, so I added/updated the following:

  • A new, far better and more accurate U.S.S. Voyager by Ed Giddings in 3DS and COB, canon section.
  • Another Warbird, by Ed Giddings, this one a bit less accurate and detailed than Mike's, but more managable for low-mem users and animations. In 3DS and COB, Klingon/Romulan section.
  • A Krenim Timeweapon, by Ed Giddings, as promised. Available in 3DS and COB, I'm not sure about the 3DS conversion, though. The texturing seems incorrect, but I don't have the time to correct it now, and I thought it would be more fair to let you have a look yourself, Other section.
  • A Bajoran Lightship, by Ed Giddings, as seen in DS9: Explorers. Sisko and son used this thing to travel Tachyon fields to warp to cardassian space without a power source, or something like that. Quite a nice model. In 3DS and COB, Other section.
  • A Voyager prototype, by Hari Zimmerman. This is about all I know of this mesh, besides that it looks quite cool. It's in MAX and in the non-canon section.
  • Updated the Other section to include a link to the Lightwave Borg cube by Ralph Schobert for the Lightwave users.
  • I updated links to Mojoman's models to his new site, since the old download links will soon be gone. You can now download the meshes through his new site, Robotfarm.
  • Updated link to Dominic Schokke's page, since it's moved. The LWO Dauntless is now for download there, 3DS still on this site.
  • Updated the links page to reflect Dominic's and Mojo's site moves.
  • Shortened the news page, moved alot of news to the 'Old news' section accessible from the bottom of this page.
  • I suggest those hungry for more meshes to also visit the Scifi-art site if you have not done so recently. There's quite nice models for download there, and all the tutorial/headlines/pictures were updated last month. Find the meshes/tutorials in the Discovery zone (meshes under the resources header).

I'm really sorry for all the delays, but I really need to do alot of work studying. My first test-exams start thursday, the results of which are sent to my sponsor. Now that's important for my future as an Airline pilot, so it by far supercedes updating this site. I do
have some meshes left to post, and I will do so as time permits, which might be next weekend, or the weekend after. In the worst case it's after the official CAA exams, on 6 and 7 october. I'll post short news items on that to keep you posted though. If you find any problems with any of the meshes
on this site, please email me about them describing the problem as best you can. I want to keep all of these meshes in perfect order, but it's expanding to a very large collection and it's hard to keep an eye on everything.

Also, ignore this if you will, but I need money if I want to keep updating this page. I'm on a big loan to pay for my airline training, and the phone costs for updating are high. Please click on my sponsor banners if you have a second. Just once everytime you visit the site will help me alot! If you hate
banners, just ignore them, I hate 'pimping.' You will NEVER be forced to click on them. Never, ever. That's a definite promise.

I'm sorry for not updating for such a long time, but I haven't been able to acces my ftp server, so there was no way I could update. The frustrating thing was that there was no way to let you know either, since I couldn't post anything. But here I am,
and I hope to update this weekend. Things are getting busier now, and I hope you will bear with me as I start preparing for my theory exams in 3 weeks. I will definitely update more frequently after that,
and I will try to fit in an update this weekend as I do have some meshes ready, which only need optimizing before I can upload them.

Anyway, now you know why I was silent for so long; it was out of my hands. My apologies for that.

Uploaded a whole bunch of files today! I've added three meshes by Rob Caves:

  • A Cardassian Battleship modelled by Rob and designed by Rutger Warrink,
  • A Cardassian Chintaka class ship, also designed by Rutger Warrink,
  • The Dreadnaught version of the 1701-D, as seen in 'TNG: All good things...', kitbashed by Rob Caves, using the original 1701-D model by Ralph Schobert & Trevor Morris

Both Cardassian ships are non-canon, but very nice designs with a definite 'modern-Cardassian style.'

Furthermore I uploaded the non-canon Klingon scoutship the Khotak class. It's been inspired by references to a small Klingon ship in several DS9 episodes, and it was modelled by Brian Sayler.
And last but not least Pat John build the non-canon NCC-3806 out of Eric Petersons 1701-B mesh, only available in COB version.

I also updated two meshes, and removed one:

  • The Nebula class has been updated to fix most texture problems with both the 3DS and MAX versions.
  • The 3DS Promentheus has been re-textured by Gustavo Lećo, and now looks alot better, the MAX version has now been obsoleted.
  • The Saber class by Mike Wright is no longer available for download. Dan Huling's Saber is still available though.

I hope that statisfies your mesh-hunger, though I have at least two more meshes in the que, waiting to be converted and uploaded. That'll be somewhere
in the coming week. It includes the Krenim time-weapon ship....

And I forgot to mention that I added 4 sites to the link page (not all at the bottom) and updated two links.

Well, the promised files are up, but before you run to download the Promentheus, read this:

When I wrote that text, I had a reasonably accurate mesh, that I had textured myself. Now just a couple of days ago I found Lucifers model, which was far more accurate. There were, however, some texture problems with that mesh,
especially in the conversion from LWO to another format. But in my enthousiasm (the shape is far better) I threw away the other one textured by myself (which looked far better). In the end, I haven't been able to texture the current mesh very well,
and it looks like it's from a bad computer game at the moment. If someone could redo the texturing, I'd be very grateful, since I just don't have the time (the weekend is over :[ ).

I also uploaded the U.S.S. Discovery, a ship designed by Gustavo Lećo, using parts from various mesh authors. Although I don't completely agree on the texturing (Sorry Gustavo ;), he wants it this way. The shape of the ship
is very cool, though, I really like the 'huge' design.

And another addition to the Non-ship category is a shuttlebay interior by Tim Sibley. Not mega-detailed, it's still quite nice to do some animations with.

That's probably it for this week, unless someone textures the Promentheus, that is. I will do a mid-week update to keep you informed, since I do have my eye on some other meshes at the moment.

I wish to apologize for the server downtime from about 1600 UTC yesterday that lasted for about 5 hours. I don't have a clue what was wrong, but at the moment everything seems to be working fine again.

The workload in the ground school at the moment is very high. I'm working hard on calculating gyro drift, high winds, points of no return and other pilot stuff. That leaves no time for an update this week. I'll try to get to it this weekend. I still have the promentheus ready, so that will be with the update.

7th of August 1999
Hmm.... Why do I keep uploading the wrong files? It appears when updating my links page last time, I uploaded the file where I hadn't filled in some of the names of the added sites. That's been fixed now. Also I've changed the comments on the
newly updated (since last week) Scifi-art site. The update is great, if you haven't seen the new pictures, (great) animations and tutorials yet, then why haven't you clicked that link yet?

7th of August 1999
Sorry for the lack of updates. I'm in the Netherlands at the moment having a vacation. I'll still respond to email but there won't be any new meshes while I'm here.

I have two or three meshes that still have to be uploaded, I'll try to do that during the next week. No promises, but I think I'll get a reasonably good Promentheus, and a shuttle bay
interior. Also a very good trueSpace DS9 mesh, that I'm trying to get converted to 3DS and LWO, with little luck...

Problem is, I'm back in ground school next week (starting monday), which means that I'm going to have to study again for about 12-14 hours per day. That doesn't leave any time for site updates. Expect weekend updates only. I will not disappear,
but I don't know how much time I'll have for conversions and the likes.
