I've added three meshes by the Axeman today. They are:

Two torpedo variants (3DS & LWO):

A Type 17 Shttlepod (MAX & LWO):

And a non-Canon small craft, the IAV-106 (MAX & LWO):

.

MAX Conversions are by Sam Vanroelen.

Enjoy! :)

A new mesh for the Lightwave users out there! It's Ed Giddings' Borg Cube. There was no cube in LWO format here, so this has been rectified now. Ed's going to publish more meshes here, very, very soon, so I'll keep you posted!

Here's a pic of the cube:

A poll is now up at the forums, to choose the logo you'd like for this site! Please go and have your say.

I've added a LWO conversion of Flat Eric's Nebula class, by Mattc! Unfortunately I don't know of any 3DS conversions out there. But I'll keep looking!

Because I forgot to set some permissions correctly on the new site, the Public Gallery upload didn't work. It's been fixed now.

I've updated the LWO version of the Promentheus by Ed Giddings to the latest revision, making the LWO version look a lot better. Also, I've updated the thumbnail of the Warbird I updated yesterday, to show the new model.

Next, added the Deltaflyer by Ed Giddings today, it's in LWO and MAX formats:

Enjoy!

[Update #3]

You must've been thinking: "Great, these site changes. But what about new meshes?" Well, there's two things about that:

If you know of a mesh out there that's not here, please suggest it to me! Email me by clicking on the logo.

However, there's some new stuff in the pipeline, and today I've added a new revision (LWO version) of Ed Giddings' Warbird. This is great stuff for Lightwave users.

[Update #2]

Ok, the menu has been redone to fit better for most users using 1024x768. There were some problems there, which should now be fixed.

I'm still thinking about a new font. Any suggestions are welcome!

[Update #1]

I got an email saying the downloads don't work. I can't believe it: Only one email from over 100 visitors! Ofcourse, the link has been fixed now, and all downloads now function.

MerlinQuest Entertainment, the company owned by BattleStar Galactica's Richard Hatch, is looking for an animated opening logo, like those used by Paramount, Warner Brothers, etc. Rather than going to a private company to design this logo, Richard has decided to sponsor a public contest for anyone interested in creating the logo!

The prize: $200 (US) and an autographed novel by Richard Hatch himself!

To see more about this, check here at the 3D Gladiators.

Well, I'd hope you've noticed, but the new design is up!

Let me know what you think in the forums, I think it's certainly a lot more stylish than the previous site, it's more up to todays standards. It's scalable to all resolutions above 800x600. In 800x600 it's viewable, but it's not recommended.

There could be errors as swapping a new site with the old one can sometimes cause dead links. If so, please email me as soon as possible.

As you can see, a logo is still required. I'll accept submissions from you, my site users if you want to do one! :). It should be 250x180, and fit in with the site menu's background color (HTML #8F8F8F).

A new site design is ready. It's currently in the test stage to make sure it works well on most resolutions and different browsers. Check back soon to see it!

As some of you may have noticed, in the FAQ section, there's a link to this section on the Caligari website, where you can download trueSpace 3.2 absolutely free. For those of you just experimenting, this might come in handy! It's quite old (1997) but it's great for introducing modelling and rendering, having all basic and some more advanced features on board.
