NX-Beta Test Ship
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m28/ ... 887abd.jpg
Created by: John Shuba the NX-Beta ship. This is his first Star Trek model I created. The model is a Bézier surface solid model created in Siemens NX9 software. If accepted into the mesh library I would be glad share with all the following formats that I converted the model to .3ds, .blend, .dxf, .igs, .jt, .lwo, .obj, .ply, .stl “acsii”, stl “binary”, wrl “version 1.0”, wrl “version 2.0”. I will also include all graphic patch images in raster and vector formats and the background images used. I may not be the best at graphics and textures, but I do create very detailed 3D models. I would like to see what someone with good graphic talent could create with this model.

Hi,
It looks very nice, especially for a first mesh! I'd gladly host it; I've sent you an email with further information.
Looking forward to it!

It is a very inspiring model!
A beautiful reason for creating epic images with this model, yes!
There is a great taste of History in the style of this ship!

I have tried to Motion-Picture Render this model in obj, but the file size is approx 277mb
which my system cant handle, but it does look like a superbly detailed mesh.

I can´t promise when I´ll have a freetime, but.... When I have it, I can try to optimize the obj, save it in ".max" and make it available.NETWORK1 wrote:I have tried to Motion-Picture Render this model in obj, but the file size is approx 277mb

Re: NX-Beta test ship mesh
Hi John!
Nice work on the NX-Beta. I'm no expert with Lightwave but I've just tried to load it in 11.6 and I'm getting a simple grey model (no decals, no impulse and bussards) I'm obviously doing something wrong but I'm not sure what? I normally work in Max so any help would be appreciated
Thanks and regards

Re: NX-Beta test ship mesh
I also use max ('09).
I tried to import the 3ds file, but results in an error message.
(But the "Bryce7" was able to open the file.)
