Re: Ferengi Marauder - Star Trek TNG
Impressive. I think the only time I've seen a Marauder as detailed as this, is when I bought a plastic model kit of it. Somehow it's never been very popular in 3D modelling or in the series. That while I really like the design!
Re: Ferengi Marauder - Star Trek TNG
I never saw a so detailled Marauder too. In fact, the Ferengis were rellegated to a second plane in TNG. I read somewhere thatexisted and ideia to make them canibals (no remember where and don´t know if it´s true). For sure they represent the capitalism... Could be this the reason cause the Ferengis were left for behind in the series?

Well, I brought some upgrades.
The images - 30, 31 and 32 - show some of greeble done so far.
(Just see the gallery above again.)
Speaking on "Details", I never saw a picture of the studio model.
At least, the available pictures of models and toys hobbyists bring a certain agreement among themselves.

How is this coming along, can't wait to use it... some people want me to do some of the early TNG FX shots, that included the Marauder, like "The Battle" "The Last Outpost", etc.

Hehehehe ... Chris.
I know, I know!
I am motivated to read these words!
Well, I bring some progress.
Are the images number 33, 34 and 35 in the gallery above.
With some booleans, greebles and windows, the modeling will be completed.

I think so, the last picture in the gallery is a full shot of the underside...Raul Mamoru wrote:Hehehehe ... Chris.

Yea, the Marauder has quite a few windows...

They're hard to see...

Re: Ferengi Marauder - Star Trek TNG
The window size (tiny) show that the ship has almost the same number of crew members in comparison with the Galaxy.
Imagine yourself inside, looking out.
There are many floors, rooms, accommodation ...
But your collaboration brought to me a new detail. 8)
At the ends of the "half moon", there is a shining triangle.
Perhaps a "maneuvering thruster".
This will be added.

>Hi, Chainsaw!
I also downloaded the diagram of Cygnus at the beginning of this project.
I found several pictures of various models. Each model has different details, this causes great conflict
when I modeling parts.
I do not know how you, Chainsaw, solves such dilemmas for your model works...

Thanks again!

Well, today I bring more updates on the album above.

Hi Raul,
Yeah differnces in models are always a hard choice. But eventualy you have to pick one. There are CGI based and scale models around. So i don't think it really matters what you pick. All ships are built costum anyways so ther are bound to be some differnces.

Re: Ferengi Marauder - Star Trek TNG
Very good, Chainsaw.
When in doubt, I try to put aesthetics as a factor of choice (a tip from my wife
).
Thank you, Chainsaw.

Yes, Mikala:
This ship gives headaches to Picard.
**********************************
This time (in the gallery), I bring news like the bow of the ship and the accretion of windows.
Well, the modeling is completed.
Now, I'll work the texture.
