Important notice - the end nears for Trekmeshes

Hi all, for those that still read this.
I've just renewed the domain for Trekmeshes, and decided that it will be the last time.
The site has existed for almost 30 years. It only ever existed as a corner of the web where people could get started in 3D and share their results, all in a Star Trek theme.
I've come to the conclusion that the internet has changed too much, that web where people share, discuss, give and take, no longer exists.
Trekmeshes has about 200-250 visits per day, with about 200 downloads daily. So more than enough people that come to take.
But for years now, on average less than one person per year offers to share their work in any shape or form, in return for what they came here to get. About two or so per year post anything to others on the forum (a vicious circle, I know). So virtually no-one comes to share and give back.
That's not a web that is a fun place to spend money and server capacity in, at least not for me.
The intent seems to be to take, and never return. It seems to me few people today realize that that is unsustainable -- you can't keep taking and expect others to keep giving. There will be nothing new (except perhaps for AI generating stuff based on years-old creations, which it does quite well).
For 30 years, anyone could come here to download stuff, simply because others have uploaded it! If no-one returns the favour, that can simply not go on. For me, at least, there is no fun, no satisfaction in serving those that are never heard from now nor ever.
I sincerely thank those that have contributed over the years, and those that simply contacted me to talk about anything. It's been those exchanges that made me want to keep Trekmeshes alive.
I hope we can stay in touch; and if anyone remembers Trekmeshes in the future, you're really remembering the many mesh authors that released their hard work here (there are far too many to mention, but thank you all!), and the frequent contributors to the forums in the earlier years (NETWORK1, you're the prime one here, thank you so much).
Trekmeshes was a great ride, but it is a relic of an internet that's gone I'm afraid. Pity, I had fun in those days
