The lightning texture goes into a certain part of the model. I can detach that part into a separate object. The mesh was very messy a lot of mirrored object not aligned properly and not welded. Had to do a lot of cleanups. Maybe i can texture it properly and then export as OBJ optimized for bryce.

^ That would be terrific. If you can pull that off, I and I'm sure many others would be very appreciative!

You, sir, are a HERO. The OBJ you sent is EXACTLY what I was aiming for. I've got what I was aiming for, if you want to upload the MAX scene too I'm hardly going to object, but if Eric can upload it that'll work too.
Thanks a lot for helping me with this one, I greatly appreciate it. Anything I can ever do for you, just ask.

Ah, the STTMP blaster beam. Bought the whole soundtrack album that came with, it's an impressive effect but I'm not sure yet what role that particular sound is going to play in Redemption. In the previous two films, one hit of the blaster beam was the motif for the black hole in Sector 585, I hadn't planned on going to that region this time around, but we'll see.

Anyone who wants to see this mesh in action:

It's just a quick little video test for an upcoming scene in "Redemption," but it's still a pretty nice little clip!

^ That's going to be fixed at the end of this production process but not before...I had a bad experience when I was making the first film and I have no desire to repeat it. People have been nagging me nonstop since Redemption kicked off to let them do VOs for Retribution, but to me voiceovers are the least pleasant part of the production process--it's involved, it's tedious, and it's repetitive. If I do decide to do a casting call, it'll be for the whole trilogy all at once, that way the voice cast will be the same, and I can do the VOs without the creative (and more fun) half of things waiting in the wings. The fun for me is in simply telling the story, and it's fun because of the creativity involved; I've been urging people to think of this like an audio book set to moving imagery. That's basically what it is anyhow.
Problem with Specter was that I let myself get pushed into doing a casting call before I was ready, and when I was finally ready to give the word, most of the people I'd picked weren't around any longer. Then with Retribution, one guy took it WAY too far "reminding" me constantly that he was available to voice one of the characters. (Needless to say, VOs are a bit of a touchy subject.)

I'd like to take a look at this mesh.
If someone can send this file (max9 / max2009) via e-mail to me ...
