This time, I´m using as a reference an old and low polly mesh found online. At this moment, only the sec hull is the final version. ;)
I know the feeling. My bridge took a year and i'm still working on some bugs/improvements. Keep up the good work, and most of all keep it interesting for yourself.

Aha old reference. does that explain the low poly on the main saucer section? You do know it very easy to add more poly's with the freeflow option in the graphite tools??

Thank you Chainsaw! Yes, you´re right about all that you wrote. :) About the saucer´s segmentation, in fact was a distraction from my own, cause I have her previous version in a satisfatory stage. About the graphite tools and freeflow, I don´t know anything! I´m still working in max 9 due a few main reasons: 1-) lazyness in learning the new version 2-) working in max 9 will allow more peoples to use my mesh. Hummmmmmm... ok, the reason 2 is an excuse for not learning the 2012 version. But I have to take a look at that tool that you pointed.

with the graphite modeling tools you can do more with edit poly. Take this low poly cillinder,

Now with the graphite tool (or polyedit) you can ring and loop your edges.

Then using "FLOW CONNECT" it calculates the roundness of the existing curve instead of just adding edges in the centre

Really easy, and a higher max version doesn't really differ that much.

I know that I have a huge backlog, but... I simply could not help myself.
When at work, I had an idea, so, in my lunch hour played a bit with her in sketchup, which I have installed in my old pc (a PIII with 512 RAM). I got the result attached, which I believe that has potential and, later, I´ll have to come back for her in 3ds max. :) Forget the dirty kirkythea renderings, cause I´m still learning how to use it.

You model with Edit Poly and NURMS?

Oh, I read up there!

Welcome back Raul! Busy with real life?
Yes, I model almost all the time with Editable Polly. This is the tool which I´m most confortable. I experienced a bit with splines, cross section and surface, but is hard to get what you want by this way.
The sec hull, "wings" and plateau started just as a half sphere. After to many extrusions, bevels and manual aligniment of polys and vertices, I got what I desired. I´m buildng the engines by this same process . ;) I would like to hear about your approach for that. :)

Yeah, Starship,

Busy, but not discouraged.

I asked about the Edit Poly because your models have smooth contours. I like that, without exaggeration, of course  .

I have worked with the capabilities of the Edit Poly, and I rather liked.

Full power on your Apollo, I have watched in silence, you and Chainsaw.

=====================
I´m back Raul!
So... After a long hiatus I´m back to this wip. One more time, (almost) all the pieces were rebuilt. The green bits are still waiting a redo, chamfer and smooth weren´t applyed yet, and the little neck is back, this time with enough space to have a torpedo launcher and without anything at his front blocking the fire.
For while, no errors at all, and the mesh is much more clean than the previous versions.
