the Obj. Format
I have heard from differnt sources, including here, that obj. can be read by about and 3d software. A friend of mine says though meshes are usually bare with no textures... can someone fill me in how obj. works?

Re: Star Trek XI
I forgot to mention that i likes the flares in the exterior shots. ILM knows how to handle Lensflares. However, if they were still using models, im sure Abrams would have been there flashing a flashlight into the camera to blot the ships out. I should also add more positives to this movie, we wanted ...

Re: shadows casting
THose are great renders dude, but the shadow modification of my render, it looks like the sun is above the ship. Keep in mind that this is not a light bulb only a few kilometer away, the sun is a MASSIVE collsal object that emits so much light that it overwhelms an object. Shadows will be very ...

Re: shadows casting
Enzo, your really starting to annoy me and your beginning to insult me as an artist as if i dont know anything about shadows. Yes i see your circled area. Take a model outside, with the sun at that angle. The Shadow casts up on the hull, where the pylon blocks widens. If you look closely, you will ...

Re: shadows casting
Trust me Enzo. That is where the sun is. I never put the sun behind the camera. Look where the neck is meeting the saucer. The saucer is casting a shadow. If there is not a shadow, then there is not supposed to be a shadow

Re: Star Trek XI
IT gets to the point where you cannot enjoy a picture. You cant apreciate the scenery, the set, or the actor's performance because the Lendflares blot out the screen. I might as well have a videotape with bad tracking.

Re: Star Trek XI
I didn't like it. I mean ILM was great with effects. Never cared for the Design, nor the brewery engine room. But what bothered me most, which seems to be the nrm for recent films and TV is THAT STUPID CONSTANT CAMERA SHAKE. UGh. And dont let me get started on JJ Abrams unhealthy obsession with ...

Re: Saladin Class Scout/Destroyer and Type 7 Shuttlecraft
Thats great, but where the heck are the moderators? You may have to send Enzolima or Erik a private message to get thier attention. I would like to use these meshes, unfortunatly, im stuck with Blender. Im poor. Is it alright to import them to blender? Im not sure the condition they may end up ...

Calling all people who build meshes in LW and 3ds
I am asking anyone who has meshes hosted here on this site or others that build meshes in Lightwave or 3d Studio (Not MAX) if they will let me import thier meshes to blender to render. Reason I ask is blender tends to screw up details, or not imort textures or assign them right, If anyone is willing ...
